Junior Ranger Program
The Junior Ranger Progam is a special program for kids
that provides the chance to partake in a variety of fun and
educational nature-oriented activities at San Simeon State
Park. Parents should bring their kids to the Camfire Center
at the San Simeon Creek Campground for fun regularly scheduled
programs about the Central Coast.
Junior Rangers age 7-12
Programs will be offered Thursday thru Monday starting at
10:00 AM and ending at approximately 11:00 AM. We will meet
at the campfire center. Programs will include topics such
as Ecology, Birds, Orienteering, Native Americans, Animal
Tracks, Nature Art, Insects, and Plants. Check day use and/or
campground bulletin boards for more information.
Junior Ranger Cubs
age 4-6
Cubs programs will be offered at 9:30 AM and go
until 10:00 AM unless posted otherwise. See day use and/or
campground bulletin boards for more information.
Campfire Programs
Campfire Programs will be offered on Friday and Saturday nights
beginning at 8:15 PM and ending at approximately 9:15 PM.
Topics will include Turkey Vultures, Mountain Lions, Elephant
Seals, Sea Otters, Tide Pools, Monterey Bay National Marine
Sanctuary, Birds, Owls or birds of prey, Chumash Indians,
Bats, and various other programs about the natural and cultural
resources of the Central Coast. For more information please

Movie Nights
We will be showing nature movies on Sundays and Thursdays
beginning at 8:15 PM and ending at approximately 9:15 PM.

the Hearst Castle Visitor Center at (805) 927-2013.
All programs will be conducted at the campfire center in San
Simeon Creek Campground unless posted otherwise. Bulletins
will be posted weekly on Thursday afternoon. Bulletins will
be posted on Sunday at the Washburn and Hearst State Beach
Day use areas as well as throughout the San Simeon State Park
Campground.
