Enchanted Evening -
September 25, 2010
|
 |
Guests resembling the glitterati of William
Randolph’s finest hour, bask in the warm glow of
memory at a sparkling wine reception on the
Terrace, bathed in the splendor of the setting
sun.
Find your place at the glamorously adorned table
for local gourmet cuisine paired with
world-class Central Coast wines in effervescent
company. This will truly be a night to remember.
It’s a silver anniversary, celebrating the
beginning of the Hearst dynasty and the silver
mining success of United States Senator from
California George Hearst, father of William
Randolph. You will dig the live and silent
auction items like swims in the Roman or Neptune
pools or special private Castle tours. In
previous years a luxury trip to Paris, a Day of
Indulgence at the Castle and an African photo
safari came to the block in support of art and
education. With a tip of the hardhat to one of
the captains of the Comstock Lode, maybe some of
this year’s items will be gilded in precious
metals.

Hearst Castle Overnight |
 |
Dream of a royal overnight when you were treated to the treasures of the Castle!
Some may dream and some dreams come true... Hearst Castle Overnight is a party
of friends, supporting art preservation and education. Last year, one Bay Area
couple invited eight friends to the ultimate get-away at the top — swimming
in the Neptune Pool, tennis on the Castle courts, dinner on the Terrace under
a canopy of stars, an after-dinner old-time movie in the Hearst Theater,
a stroll in the garden and the night was just for the two of them in the
room with the view of the Pacific. The next day and night were equally
spectacular at a luxury resort, highlighted with by a day of wine tasting,
lunching in the vineyards and a chef’s table of delectables back at the resort.
Details for this encore presentation are being carefully crafted for the 2010 Hearst Castle
Overnight, celebrating Friends of Hearst Castle’s 25th anniversary! Some dream and some do.
