This year’s Twilight on the Terrace kicked off a celebration of 50-years of public
access to the Castle. With a sellout crowd of over 300, the event launched a vitally
important endowment for arts preservation and education for generations to come. The
50th anniversary is providing a golden fundraising opportunity to conserve the magnificent
and extensive Hearst Castle collection of rare art and artifacts. The Castle is a living
laboratory of learning, an inspiration for students, a national treasure, a California
focus and a local connection. “The castles of the world cannot compare to the one in
your own backyard!”.
