The volunteer programs at Hearst Castle® are part of the Department-wide Volunteer in Parks Program (VIPP). For more information on the Volunteer in Parks Program please visit the California State Parks website.
California State Parks are enriched by the many skills and interests that volunteers bring to the parks in their communities, including interpretation for visitors, public contact answering questions and providing information, public safety such as volunteer patrols, park operations such as camp hosts, park equipment maintenance, park administration including clerical support and other administrative functions, and providing needed skills in natural and cultural resource management. There are many additional opportunities for volunteering in the California State Parks and at the San Luis Obispo Coast District.
